Vintage Children's Picture Books

Hubby was at a thrift shop recently (without me) and found these amazing children's picture books from 1949. I wanted to share some pictures of them with you. Each page is as charming and vibrant as the next. Since I love most anything from the 1940's and also children's toys & books these were a great find.

The covers:

Some of the inside pages:

And my favorites:

Tails Waved - Love that!!!!

If it wouldn't destroy the book I could see framing some of the pages.

Sometimes you can find some real gems at the thrift!

  1. They're soooo darn sweet! I have the Ruth Newton one, and the Little Red Riding Hood one, but I've never seen the Clown one. What I love most about them is how vibrant the colors are!
What great finds! Thank you for sharing.

  2. These are adorable illustrations! The little squirrels are so cute. I teach kinder, so we learn lots of Nursery Rhymes. I do love the vintage illustrations, and so do the children. They even say, the pictures are so happy!

  3. Maddie has a couple of those books in her vintage book collection. They are so dang cute!

You could take them down to Kinko's or another type of copy place and have professional copies made to frame. I've read about other bloggers doing that.

    Have a great week!
