Weekend Treasures

Sorry for being MIA for over a week. Life is just very hectic as I finish up teaching for the school year and my daughters also finish up their year with recitals, concerts, plays and the like. Thanks for still checking in with me. I love my readers!

Memorial Day weekend is usually my favorite weekend for yard saleing. However this weekend the sales that we went to didn't have much. I only got one vintage item at the yard sales - an old 100 card Bingo Game. I didn't even have to pay for as it was on the "free" table. It was free while other junky stuff cost money - go figure! Picture below.

The next day we hit a flea market. This flea market is the kind where people sell Avon or expired potato chips & snack cakes - not usually cool vintage collectibles. However, amongst all the crazy items I usually find a few things. This time did not disapoint. I was starting to get worried as the first half of the sale I didn't see anything. But low and behold we stumbled on a seller who was cleaning out her mother-in-law's house and I was able to score some treasures. Here is what I bought at the flea - displayed on my husband's tail gate.

The cannister set was $1. I just love the green and tan. They are a bit worn but I don't really care. They are great storage for craft supplies or in the kitchen. The dishtowels were a quarter a piece. I kid you not! They are all linen, vintage and stain free. I even scored a Christmas one. Yay Me!

I love this little glass. Pink and white. A great water glass for the bathroom.

McCoy vase in white - score! Only $1

I like these older tins. They make cute trays to store office supplies on your desk or I may even hang it on the wall.

I bought this old band-aid box for $1. I have a collection of  pharmacy items on display in my bathroom. It needs a good cleaning.

These love birds are my favorite find of the weekend. They came from an antique store. I just had to have them to add to my bird collection. Love them!!

Thanks for stopping by to see what I found this weekend.

  1. Sigh. I always get jealous when I see garage sale prices in other parts of the country. Cannisters for $1? Wow! I shop vicariously through your blog.....
