September was a pretty good month for vintage finds. Although yard sales around my area are dwindling, I was able to find all of these items - with the exception of one - at yard sales.
Anchor Hocking Fire King Bowls + one Pyrex bowl mixed in:
This set of bowls was found at a yard sale. It was the kind of sale that all the vintage collectors out there will relate to - the new stuff {a.k.a. worthless Walmart crap} was priced high, and the one vintage item that was really worth more than all of that other stuff combined - was priced low. Score! Hubby is actually the one who found this bowl set - not me. After he brought it home we realized that one of the bowls was Pyrex. Double score!
"One of these things is not like the others"...This was the Pyrex bowl nestled amongst the others.
Also found at a yard sale - a tin trash can in red and a tin tray.
Hubby and I spent a recent Sunday morning at the flea market and this is what I came home with. I walked the entire flea looking for Pyrex. There wasn't much of it to be found, which was sort of disappointing. When I saw this I didn't hesitate. I whipped out my cash and bought it! I LOVE it. The Friendship pattern is growing on me. Maybe because it was released the same year that I was born, 1971.
Happy Day!

Isn't it funny how two different makers have such similar patterns on their bowls? I love the square flowers pattern. I had a couple of pieces but sold them at my garage sale last year. I have to be selective!
ReplyDeleteAwesome find on the Friendship casserole. I also found a Friendship piece at the flea market last weekend!
